This is just one of the things we've been doing these past couple of months. I swear things have been crazy/nutz with kids, school, moving, and work, I need about a year off to recover........ And yes, it's been way to long since I've last posted anything........... at all................. It's been such a long time that even blogger changed the log in screen. I wasn't quite sure where I was when I typed in blogger.com this morning????
OK so, I've taken a long break from my Nikon and have found a love for the little crappy camera in my blackberry. I know weird huh??? I told a friend this and she cracked up and said " I know the feeling I love my phone camera too, it totally sucks!" LOL!! So I'm not the only one.................. It's tiny, it's convenient and yes half the time not in focus paired with horrible, awful colors, but still to a busy mom it's just what you need when your kid is doing something hysterical. It's the one thing you always seem to have with you:-) I view it kinda like the American Express slogan "Never Leave Home Without It." I love knowing I have my phone my computer and my camera ALL in the safety of my teeny weenie zipper pocket of my purse. I also love the no pressure feel that when I point and shoot two things are bound to happen. First I know that I'll get the image I want, and second, about 90% of time its going to turn out completely crappy. That my friends is a great feeling, especially to a photographer that just wants a picture of whats happening, to know it doesn't always have to be perfect. I have to confess I love my crappy pictures just as much as my non crappy ones! So for the last 60 days my family photos have been all tightly secured in my phone and I'm gleefully happy about it in fact I've been giddy as a little girl sneaking peeks throughout the day at images I just would have never gotten if I was using my neurotic perfectionist side of my brain.... However, that doesn't do much for friends and a family, especially when they are wondering what the heck is happening in our home:)
It wasn't until the Casa Grande Triathlon that Nikon and I met up once again............ I pulled the poor guy outta the corner, dusted him off and charged the heck out of him.... After all, Isaac has been training too long to allow blackberry to run the show this weekend(although I was totally tempted.)
Now that I have the Nikon bug back I'll miss my little friend, he just doesn't give this event the justice it deserves. So blackberry I'm sure we'll meet up soon, probably at PDS Elementary Blue Ribbon ceremony or at JCMS or NJHS , who knows it will be somewhere I don't have the energy to lug Nikey around. There's definitely a time and place for everything. I try to always keep in mind something my mentor told me a long time ago. He said "an image is just an image no matter what camera you use. What makes it special are the people that are in it."
Amen my brother!
The Event Begins!
My husband was concerned about having the worst farmers tan. Darling, I have to say THIS man has the worst farmers tan (maybe ever:-)
Glad it wasn't me, it was freakin COLD outside! Hopefully for them it was a heated pool....
And the waiting begins...................
We waited
And waited
And waited
And waited some more.....................
Finally the guys made it in!
Scott was done and ready to leave, lending Dad a helping hand. All with a happy look on his cute little face
Happy to see Dad done, Scott looking happy once again, I don't blame him in this one, Isaac just sneezed in his hair lol!!!! (this cracks me up just thinking about it)

Finally it was done, the guys were pooped and I was ready for my favorite part of the whole day.................. FOOD!
